Today we dissected a vertebrate in contrast to the invertebrates we have been looking at. The vertebrate we dissected was a frog. We identified external as well as internal features. We learned that the intestines of a bull frog is very long (and fragile after being preserved).

Today we took the quiz over classification. We finished the squid lab and conducted the starfish lab. Next class we will dissect a frog and compare the invertebrates we have studied to the vertebrates.

Today we distinguished between the mollusks and the echinoderms. We dissected a squid today and identified internal as well as external features.

Today we distinguished between the three groups of Arthropods. In class we looked at the external features of a grasshopper and a crayfish and compared similarities and differences.

There was a test today on the Reproductive System. We finally finished viewing the end of Miracle of Life. After the test, we began discussing classification of organisms.

Today we finished Chapter 38 - Reproduction and Development. We learned about the stages of the development of a fetus and the stages of child birth. We continued viewing Miracle of Life and will continue seeing it on Wednesday prior to the test.

Today we finished learning about the excretory system. We then watched a video reviewing the circulatory system and blood. For the last part of class, we played a review game to help us prepare for the BIG Chapter 37 test on Friday.
