Today we learned about fermentation - anaerobic respiration. When our cells don't have enough oxygen to go through cellular respiration, they go into a process called lactic acid fermentation. Only 2 ATP are formed per glucose molecule therefore, it is not a very efficient source of energy production. We spent the rest of class reviewing for the test tomorrow.
