Today we finished taking notes on the muscular system. Next class we will review the entire chapter - skin, skeletal and muscular systems. Next Tuesday, there will be a test over Chapter 32.

Homework: osteoporosis worksheet

Monday, March 2, 2009

Today you took the bone quiz. After the quiz, we reviewed the skeletal system and then worked on a forensics mystery case. We learned how bones can tell us information about people. At the end of class, we began the muscular system.

NO homework!

Today we reviewed joints and the bones of the body. We continued and finished notes on the skeletal system.

Homework: complete skeletal concept map, STUDY for skeleton quiz - Tuesday next week

Monday, February 23, 2009

Today you took the quiz on the Skin. We enlarged our fingerprints by placing a thumbprint on a balloon and blowing it up to show the details of our ridge patterns. After making our thumbprints, we began learning about the skeletal system.

Homework: joint worksheet, skeletal labeling

Thursday, February 19, 2009

At the beginning of class, we did 3 OGT practice questions. Today we finished taking notes on the skin. We learned about fingerprints today and analyzed our own fingerprints.

Homework: STUDY for skin quiz (diagram and notes), finish identifying fingerprint ridge marking

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

For the first 20 minutes, we worked more on short answer OGT questions. We then began learning about the systems of the human body. The first system is the integumentary system - skin. We have identified the parts that make up the skin and the functions of the skin.

Homework: color skin and questions on back of diagram

Yeah! Today we finished watching "How the Earth Was Formed". After the video, you took notes on how life may have arose on Earth. We learned the difference between spontaneous generation and biogenesis. We also learned about the endosymbiont theory which suggests that prokaryotic cells at one time were ingested into eukaryotic cells and they symbiotically lived together. This symbiosis gave rise to the eukaryotic cells of today.

Homework: Read the article about the Endosymbiont Theory and answer questions.
